Sesión organizada por: Group of Experts in Ocean Literacy – IOC UNESCO; Federal University of São Paulo; Fundación Amiguitos del Océano (Ecuador); Cultura Oceánica en 360° (Universidad de Valparaíso), Brazilian Ocean Ocean Literacy Alliance (Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, UNESCO and Federal University of São Paulo).

The objective of this activity is to promote an exchange between knowledge and actions of ocean literacy led in Latin American countries and to launch the Latin American Ocean Literacy Network (Red de Cultura Oceánica), associated with the Ocean Literacy Global South Network , which will have as its research goal the co-production of knowledge and the participatory mapping of priorities, challenges and opportunities for the development of ocean literacy on national, continental and Global South scales. As a result, we expect the launch of the Latin America Network and the engagement of different sectors of society from different countries, also interacting with other existing actions, programs, and networks to expand the impact.
