Water is the lifeblood of our planet and underpins all aspects of sustainable development. As we move towards the 2030 Agenda, the urgency to address water-related challenges has never been greater. The Open Forum for Science High-Level Panel on Water and Science will embody the core concept of ‘Science in Dialogue’, fostering an inclusive platform where policymakers and stakeholders collaborate to forge workable solutions. The event is dedicated to exploring and sharing experiences that promote the intersection of science and policy on issues related to sustainable water resource management. Participating countries are invited to share their initiatives related to the use of knowledge and tools generated by the scientific fields in water management, understood in its holistic view and including both water consumption for human activities and the ecosystemic needs of the resource, including wastewater management.
This panel is directly aligned to several Sustainable Development Goals:

• SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation - By promoting innovative scientific approaches to ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
• SDG 13: Climate Action - Addressing the impacts of climate change on water resources and developing resilience and adaptation strategies.
• SDG 14 and 15: Life below water and life on land - Protecting aquatic ecosystems through science-based policies that preserve biodiversity and support ecological balance.
• SDG 17: Partnerships to achieve the Goals - Facilitate multi-stakeholder partnerships that mobilise and share knowledge, expertise and technology.
