About me
Oceanographer with a master’s degree in oceanography, focused on marine conservation. Alumni fellow of the Nippon Foundation at the UN Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea, she is co-founder of Bloom Ocean and the Women’s League for the Ocean. She coordinates the Brazilian Node for the Early Career Ocean Professionals Programme and is a member of the National Decade Committee in Brazil. Mariana has experience in science diplomacy, ocean governance and initiatives dedicated to implementing the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.
